Patients applied PROGROUP methods at home after group sessions. Reported home changes included hunger awareness, reduced chocolate snacking, meal planning, routines, and use of programme materials before weigh-ins. PROGROUP influenced wider social behaviour, including reconnecting with friends and planning food with children. Support from family and wider social networks facilitated behaviour change outside the treatment setting. PROGROUP may have influenced people connected to patients even though those people were not group members.
