Inflation-adjusted costs for emergency mental health admissions rose by about 300% over the study period. Patients with Beijing medical insurance had the lowest average hospitalisation costs (US$1,453.57), while those with non-Beijing insurance had the highest (US$1,566.57), a difference of approximately US$113. Uterine fibroid patients had the highest average hospitalisation costs (US$1,568.34), while ovarian cyst patients had the lowest (US$1,357.12), both well below Beijing DRG payment ceilings. Patients with ERAS compliance below 70% incurred approximately 8% higher average hospitalisation costs, equivalent to about US$130.94 more per case, compared to those with ≥70% compliance. Mental health admissions became a larger share of paediatric emergency admission costs over the decade. The cost difference between low and high ERAS compliance was largest for laparoscopic myomectomy (+15%, US$253.15) and statistically significant only for laparoscopic myomectomy (p<0.001) and laparoscopic total hysterectomy (p=0.031).
