Hospital Standardised LOS Ratio

HSLR classified far fewer hospital-years as outliers than aLOS. HSLR is presented as a transparent and clinically interpretable survival-analysis-based metric. An HSLR of 1.0 indicates performance at the jurisdictional benchmark. HSLR is calculated as the sum of observed LOS divided by the sum of predicted LOS for each hospital annually.
