Household Microbiomes

People who live together and interact closely tend to exchange microbes. Close contact with dogs increases opportunities for microbial exchange between pets and humans. Pets participate in household microbial exchange. Immediate family members may develop more similar microbiomes over time because of repeated contact and shared environments.
