Human-in-the-Loop Automation

Human involvement supported quality control, warnings, corrections, and flexible handling of tasks difficult to automate. Manual electrolyte formulation and sample transport remained part of the workflow while other operations were automated or integrated. Human-operated steps can introduce deviations from requested parameters, which the framework partly handled by updating measured actual design parameters. The workflow intentionally combined automated equipment with human-operated laboratory steps. The framework is explicitly compatible with laboratories that combine automation and human operation.
