HNR is intended to improve menstrual outflow and reduce bleeding from small vessels. In this trial, HNR was performed under general anaesthesia in a daycare setting. HNR usually requires cervical dilation and is often performed under general or spinal anaesthesia. HNR has a higher uterine perforation risk when residual myometrium is thinner than 2.5 mm. HNR is a minimally invasive surgical treatment for women with residual myometrium of at least 2-3 mm.
