Immunobridging

Immunobridging studies compare immune responses from investigational regimens with responses from approved regimens. The paper studies vaccine settings where updated regimens may be authorized without new large efficacy trials. The framework is intended to estimate clinical incidence and relative vaccine efficacy curves, not only immune response differences. Regulatory or scientific immunobridging analyses can use the framework when immune correlates are validated and assumptions are credible.
