The infection-to-surgery interval was calculated from first positive test date to surgery date. In the original unweighted cohort, COVID-19 infection less than 3 weeks before surgery was independently associated with increased major pulmonary complication risk. COVID-19 within 3 weeks before surgery was not significantly associated with major pulmonary complications in IPTW-adjusted sensitivity analysis. COVID-19 within 6 weeks before surgery was not significantly associated with major pulmonary complications in sensitivity analysis. Exploratory analyses suggested possible overall risk pattern changes around 3, 6, and 8 to 9 weeks after infection.
