Blood flow and electrolyte monitoring are kept consistent between infused and prefilled groups. The initial citrate infusion rate in the infused group is 200 mL/hour. The infused protocol titrates citrate using prefilter and postfilter ionised calcium levels. The infused group receives 4% citrate solution through a dedicated preblood pump port into the arterial line. The infused group uses calcium-containing replacement solution for both predilution and postdilution.
