The protocol hypothesizes that additional upper limb training will lead to steeper recovery than standard care alone. The intervention group receives six additional hours per week of upper limb motor training for eight weeks. The intervention is designed to promote neural recovery through repeated activation of muscles at and below the injury level. Training intensity can be modified by increasing repetitions and progressing resistance, speed, or range of motion. The training program is adapted from the SCI-MT program but limited to upper limb training.
