For major events, INTERCHEST had modest discrimination and did not meaningfully improve telephone triage over the NTS. The INTERCHEST score was developed in 2017 for primary care chest pain assessment. In this study, the INTERCHEST physician-suspicion item was adapted to the triage assistant's sense of alarm. At the study threshold, INTERCHEST missed 5 major events and 2 of 13 ACS cases. The INTERCHEST score was evaluated alongside MHS for telephone triage of acute chest pain.
