Participants found the programme enjoyable and acceptable. The pilot intervention was delivered once per week for four weeks in a local community centre. The final refined programme will last ten weeks and include preintervention and postintervention assessment weeks. Dance was selected because it combines artistic, social, and physical activity elements. The class included icebreakers, social dance, movement-to-music, balance work, endurance activity, and informal social time. The programme was led by both a physiotherapist and an experienced dance teacher. The study developed and piloted an intergenerational dance programme for older adults and adolescents in Ireland.
