Offering component choice was expected to increase participation among older adults with technology anxiety. The standard intervention consists of monthly SMAT-R interaction. Multiple coaching sessions during the 12-week programme were recommended to sustain engagement and behavioural change. The six-month median self-management score is used as the tailoring threshold because no clinical cut-off exists for the score. The incentive strategy uses immediate and delayed rewards to encourage patients to answer follow-up calls. Stakeholders considered translation of pamphlets and reminder messages into target communities' native languages essential for engagement and comprehension. Stakeholders recommended increasing font size and using a booklet rather than a single-sheet pamphlet. Pamphlets should include diverse imagery showing people from relevant ethnic communities performing activities. Poorer responders may receive a reminder alone or a reminder plus physician feedback in the second stage.
