eGFR is recommended when kidney-related signs are suspected and estimates how well the kidneys filter blood. The urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio is useful for detecting protein leakage through damaged kidney filters. The urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio helps identify abnormal albumin in urine relative to creatinine. Urine analysis can detect protein leakage. Blood pressure should be checked because high blood pressure can aggravate kidney damage.
