Developing lower-body stability is one of the primary goals of this exercise. The lower-body position must be maintained and the split stance must not collapse or shift during the press. Weight is loaded through the front leg throughout the entire movement to build stability. The front knee should remain centered over the foot rather than drifting too far inward or outward. The front foot must stay fully grounded with weight distributed through the whole foot.
