LAP had the highest AUROC in the normal BMI subgroup. LAP had the highest PPV for NAFLD among normal BMI participants. LAP reflects lipid accumulation and insulin resistance using waist circumference and triglycerides. LAP may help identify hepatic steatosis better than BMI alone in lean Asian populations.
