The review is structured as a living review because AI methods and applications are evolving quickly, making static reviews likely to become outdated. The review follows Joanna Briggs Institute methodology for scoping reviews and Cochrane guidance for living reviews. The first iteration includes only English-language reports published from 1 January 2025 onward, a date limit chosen for feasibility and relevance. Results will be reported according to the PRISMA extension for scoping reviews using a PRISMA flow diagram. The review will be updated annually for at least five years. Ethical approval is not required for this review because it uses only previously published data. Only English-language reports are included, meaning relevant reports in other languages may be missed, which is acknowledged as the main limitation.
