Prior dystonia studies found low-frequency theta-alpha GPi activity associated with dystonia severity and clinical improvement after stimulation. Chronic sensing may provide a clinically relevant signal during real-world stimulation and movement. The study hypothesises that reproducible low-frequency alpha-theta LFP peaks may be biomarkers of dystonia severity, treatment response, and optimal stimulation location. The study evaluates whether chronically recorded GPi LFPs can guide DBS programming in dystonia.
