Lugol's Solution

The Lugol's iodine protocol involves 5 days of use followed by a 2-day break. Lugol's solution contains both molecular iodine (I₂) and potassium iodide (KI) because different tissues preferentially absorb different iodine forms. Selenium at 100 mg/day is recommended during iodine loading to protect the thyroid.
