Lymphocyte Mapping

Routine CBC may miss immune dysfunction that lymphocyte mapping can detect. Flow cytometry can count close to 20,000 cells per minute and report cell-type percentages reproducibly and accurately. Pre-disease lupus research showed elevated CD4 and Th1 cells with decreased T-regulatory cells. Validated reagents allow reliable clinical laboratory use for blood samples up to 24 hours old. Flow cytometry stains lymphocyte membranes with fluorescently labeled monoclonal antibodies. Lymphocyte abnormalities can be detected in pre-disease, active, and post-treatment stages. In active disease, abnormal lymphocyte patterns guide personalized treatment protocols.
