Mastery learning participants showed notably stronger improvement in hand placement accuracy than SSL participants immediately after training. The mean training duration under the mastery learning framework was 40 minutes (SD ±15 min). No validated mastery cut score exists specifically for lay rescuers; the 90% threshold used in this study is drawn from prior Laerdal QCPR research and requires further validation. The mastery learning framework required bronchoscopists to complete two consecutive bronchoscopies simultaneously meeting all three proficiency targets: 18/18 segments inspected, 18/18 structured progressions, and procedure time under 120 seconds. Mastery learning participants required a mean of 2.9 attempts to reach the 90% QCPR threshold, producing total practice volume comparable to the SSL group's maximum allowance of five sessions. Female participants required significantly more practice attempts than males to reach the mastery threshold, attributed to smaller body stature limiting upper-body force for chest compressions. The training dose was likely insufficient, as the mean session lasted only 40 minutes compared to a mean of 114 minutes for novices in prior work w…
