Maternal Obesity

A meta-analysis of over 3 million people found that women with obesity are twice as likely to have an autistic child compared with women without obesity. Maternal obesity substantially increases autism risk in offspring. When maternal obesity and diabetes are both present, autism rates among offspring increase fourfold.
