The review treats attitude and the affective domain as synonymous for medical education in this protocol. The affective domain includes interest, attitudes, values, appreciation and adjustment. Medical education research has under-researched attitudes compared with knowledge and skills. In one cross-semester survey, only 13% of medical students preferred becoming a GP. Interest in general practice is influenced by demographic, sociocultural and work-related factors as well as income.
