Medication Management

Medication management knowledge among patients was inadequate. Some patients stopped or restarted medication based on occasional glucose readings. More than half of interviewees could not explain medication mechanisms, monitoring needs, or risks such as sulfonylurea-induced hypoglycaemia. Glucose-driven self-discontinuation exposed patients to avoidable risk because treatment was adjusted without sufficient knowledge, monitoring, or professional guidance.
