Semaglutide improved glycemic markers compared with placebo. Total cholesterol and triglycerides improved with semaglutide relative to placebo. Blood pressure changes favored semaglutide but were not statistically significant in the full intention-to-treat analysis. High-sensitivity C-reactive protein did not differ significantly between groups. HbA1c reductions were also observed among participants with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, but subgroup sample sizes were small.
