Integrated DNA methylation and RNA expression signals are interpreted as improving LUAD-LUSC classification. The combined silenced and activated regulatory feature set was considered more informative than either regulatory signature alone. The study argues that single-omics classical analyses can miss dependencies between DNA methylation and RNA expression. DNA methylation and RNA-seq data were obtained from TCGA-related resources through UCSC Xena and the TCGA Multi-Omics Cancer Benchmark repository.
