Negativity Bias

The human brain contains more neural tissue devoted to negative emotions than to positive ones. Humans are biologically inclined toward negative emotional states including resentment, ungratefulness, suspicion, and hostility. The negativity bias manifests as a tendency to focus on unfulfilled desires rather than on what one already possesses.
