Neurogastroenterology and motility disorders include motility disorders affecting gastrointestinal transport and functional disorders involving the gut-brain axis. Neurogastroenterology and motility patients had the lowest work participation rate among the three disorder groups. Comparable evidence for work participation and disability benefit in neurogastroenterology and motility disorders was scarce. The neurogastroenterology and motility group had higher adjusted odds of receiving disability benefit than the other two disorder groups combined.
