Ninety percent of questionnaire respondents agreed that the online education increased their awareness of the health consequences of too much sitting and motivated them to change. Most intervention participants completed the online education session, found it understandable, and reported it increased their awareness of the health consequences of excessive sitting. Online education alone is unlikely to be sufficient for sustained behaviour change; it may serve as an initial phase, but ongoing coaching and prompts are likely needed. Future versions of RESIT may benefit from refresher education sessions to maintain awareness and reinforce behaviour-change techniques. Participants had limited recall of the online education content at 6 months despite good initial engagement.
