Direct evidence for optic disc geometry and disc-to-macula distance as CAD-related parameters remains limited and needs validation. The mechanism connecting optic disc morphology to CAD is indirect and uncertain. Optic disc tilt and rotation can influence superficial vessel density and radial peripapillary capillary vessel density. The study hypothesised that optic disc geometry and disc-to-macula distance may affect retinal vascular haemodynamics through vessel length, calibre and curvature.
