Outer Order

Outer order can support inner calm, but there is no universal standard for an orderly home or workspace. Beauty is treated as a distinct part of order because surroundings can provide comfort, energy, and pleasure. People differ in how much visual stimulation they prefer. Clutter is defined by lack of need, use, and love rather than by visibility alone. Decluttering should begin by deciding what should remain rather than by organizing everything. Possessions need assigned homes after unused items are reduced. Duplicates can be useful when items are needed in multiple locations.
