Robotic-assisted surgery extends minimally invasive surgery by adding precision, dexterity, stable visualisation, ergonomics, motion scaling, and tremor filtration. The advantages of robotic assistance are considered especially relevant for children because smaller patients have limited working space and are affected by instrument size. Routine use of the system may reduce hospital stay and improve patient-reported pain compared with conventional laparoscopy. The study hypothesises that Senhance safety and performance are equivalent to comparable conventional paediatric laparoscopic procedures. Traditional paediatric laparoscopy has limitations that the Senhance system may help address.
