Prior audits have identified limited parental involvement and unmet parental needs around emergency department visits and follow-up planning. An advisory committee with parents, young adult women with lived experience, and a clinician reviewed study procedures and materials. Parents or caregivers are included alongside adolescent participants in the study sample. Parents are treated as central participants in youth suicide audits because they provide developmental and contextual information. The advisory committee will continue meeting throughout the study and advise on plans for sharing results.
