Participation Expectations

Expectations of care and relational support influenced participant retention. Some participants were unclear about what trial participation required. Some participants did not understand the duration of participation or the importance of completing all follow-up assessments. Lack of responsiveness from trial staff discouraged continued engagement. Participants could lose interest when trial involvement felt limited to questionnaires with little care.
