Education addresses psychological factors such as pain catastrophizing and self-efficacy. The standard care control group receives only one standardised 1.5-hour preoperative education session approximately 2–3 weeks before surgery, with no specific preoperative exercise advice. Every education topic is discussed with each patient at least twice, and patients are encouraged to reflect and ask follow-up questions between sessions. The protocol identifies structured education as a way to address an underexplored component of care.
