Absolute CMAP amplitude may miss motor unit loss because reinnervation can mask it. CMAP decline after spinal cord injury has been associated with worse muscle power and functional abilities. Peripheral change is assessed using median nerve stimulation, CMAP, nerve excitability testing, and motor unit number estimation. The primary peripheral endpoint is CMAP amplitude measured at the abductor pollicis brevis after median nerve stimulation. MScanFit estimates motor unit number, motor unit sizes, and activation profile.
