Anatomical localisation of the left DLPFC is considered suboptimal because functional topography varies considerably between individuals. Prior PSCI trials commonly stimulated the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex using standard anatomical landmarks. The pBFS approach uses resting-state fMRI parcellation to identify each participant's frontoparietal cognitive network within the DLPFC. The final stimulation target is selected as the centre of the largest accessible gyral high-confidence FCN cluster.
