A separate study showed pharmacist-led anticoagulation management was associated with improved patient satisfaction and increased confidence in pharmacist oversight. China's physician-to-population ratio of 25 per 10,000 is lower than in the USA (36 per 10,000) or UK (32 per 10,000), with resources concentrated in economically developed regions. Chinese pharmacists have previously demonstrated effectiveness managing chronic conditions including COPD, diabetes, and cancer. Pharmacist-led anticoagulation clinics in China are mostly confined to tertiary hospitals. Pharmacist-led education in the PST model reinforced dietary consistency for vitamin K stability and improved medication adherence. This trial supports pharmacist-led PST as a feasible and scalable anticoagulation model within China's existing healthcare structure.
