The video approach reduces bias from pharmacist characteristics including sex, gestures, facial expressions and tone of voice. This study is described as the first to evaluate whether pharmacist-led enhanced coping support can reduce the nocebo effect. Both study groups receive standard medication counseling via a standardized prerecorded 10-minute video. Prerecorded video counseling prevents real-time monitoring of patient complexion and mental state, differing from usual clinical practice. The prerecorded video is used to reduce variability across study sites and pharmacists.
