Physical activity is presented as a cornerstone of secondary prevention after cardiovascular events. Many cardiac rehabilitation patients continue to have low physical activity levels despite conventional interventions. The IMPACT trial measured moderate-to-vigorous physical activity during the week after rehabilitation discharge as its primary outcome. Valid accelerometer data required at least 10 waking hours of wear per day on at least four days, including a weekend day.
