Physician Educators

CTF programmes may support medical school expansion by adding educator capacity without placing unsustainable demands on consultants and senior clinicians. CTF programmes may reduce consultant pressure by redistributing educational responsibilities. Closing the public knowledge gap requires deliberate educational effort. About 30% of trainers cannot use their allocated training time because of clinical pressures. About half of current trainers are at moderate or high risk of burnout according to the GMC 2024 National Training Survey. Financial constraints, limited clinical placement capacity, and supervisory infrastructure needs are barriers to expansion. Medical and healthcare roles are especially positioned to communicate health principles effectively. The physician's role includes educating people in health principles.
