Planets

Planets do not scintillate or twinkle. Planets remain steady while stars twinkle, making them distinguishable by scintillation behavior. Atmospheric turbulence affects different parts of a planet's visible disk nearly equally. Planets have a measurable angular size in the sky rather than appearing as point sources.
