Integration of digital health training in postgraduate curricula has been uneven globally, with some institutions developing structured competency-based programmes and others relying on ad hoc workshops or informal learning. Some institutions have developed structured, competency-based postgraduate curricula covering teleconsultation, health informatics, and AI in diagnostics. Continuing professional development is explicitly included in the review scope because many PCPs acquire digital competencies through non-formal learning later in their careers, particularly where structured residency programmes are less prevalent. The review aims to produce a thematic framework intended as a foundation for developing internationally recognised competency standards in digital health for primary care. Review findings may inform national curriculum reforms and accreditation standards.
