Prescribing Appropriateness

About half of analyzed new-user PPI prescriptions were classified as potentially inappropriate. Indication-related inappropriateness was mainly linked to gastritis categories not supported by guidelines. Prophylaxis-related inappropriate prescribing affected nearly one-third of analyzed prescriptions.
