Classical and advanced sequence representations left substantial overlap between Parkinson-associated and control proteins. The main bottleneck was interpreted as the information content of primary-sequence representations rather than insufficient model capacity alone. All compared representations were derived exclusively from primary sequence. Primary sequence should not be treated as sufficient by itself for future disease-related protein modeling.
