The mixed-method design allowed survey patterns to be interpreted alongside detailed patient accounts. The mixed-methods process evaluation is intended to support ongoing learning and adaptation during implementation. The study used a convergent parallel mixed-method design with surveys and interviews collected during the same period. The evaluation used a multimethod design alongside the FirstCPR trial. The study-specific implementation score was descriptive and not validated as a fidelity or uptake measure. The analysis followed the UK Medical Research Council process-evaluation framework. Reporting of process evaluations has been inconsistent and often incomplete despite increased publication volume. The process evaluation will examine reach, delivery, mechanisms of impact, contextual influences, unintended consequences and organisational variation. Facilitators will report fidelity, preparation time and deviations after each session. About 25 Cycle Nation participants will complete semistructured interviews at both 12 weeks and 12 months.
