Programme Evaluation

Staff satisfaction surveys found high overall acceptance across settings, with acute inpatient units showing lower but still majority-positive agreement. During 2019, MAUVE delivered 31,593 interventions across all settings. Future evaluations should use mixed methods and include patient- and volunteer-reported outcomes. The study is presented as the first known evaluation of a multicomponent volunteer programme across emergency, acute inpatient, and subacute transitional settings within one health system. The study could not assess patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, or volunteer experience because patient and volunteer data were not collected.
