Professional support was lowest among Lur, Mazani, and Arab women in the CEQ subdomains. Provider behavior is described as a major contributor to positive or negative childbirth experience. Language barriers, cultural discordance, provider knowledge gaps, discrimination, and cultural insensitivity may reduce satisfaction for minority women. Ethnic minority women have reported less satisfactory maternity care and communication difficulties with healthcare providers in prior studies. Explicit and implicit bias may produce inequities in maternity care. The study identifies culturally responsive provider behavior as a practical target for improving professional support among Arab, Lur, and Mazani women.
