PT School Selection

The most prestigious PT program is not necessarily the best choice. Most PT schools provide roughly similar baseline education because their primary institutional goal is to prepare students to pass licensing requirements. PT school may not fully prepare graduates to help patients at a high level, but it provides essential foundations and the license required to practice. PT school curricula may include outdated interventions because those concepts remain testable on board examinations. Passing the licensing exam is non-negotiable, making advanced continuing education useless if a student cannot first graduate and pass. The most important criteria for selecting a PT school are cost, speed of completion, and flexibility in choosing clinical sites.
