SBO hierarchy matching improved overlap because curated and extracted reactions may be represented at different specificity levels. Multiple reaction-type signatures appeared only in MTOR-HMN, reflecting curators' ability to combine biological event types. MTOR-HMN reactions could receive multiple SBO/GO terms, whereas NLP-derived reactions corresponded to exactly one term. All reactions in the datasets were annotated with Systems Biology Ontology and Gene Ontology terms with reported complete coverage.
